Community begins with me.
Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

History

The Christian PATH News was created:

To be a vehicle to help merge all the values and principles that define Christianity: love of God, self, and neighbor.

To create a space where the perspectives, experiences, and education of people are united with the intent of creating an atmosphere where our ability to connect all three is achieved.

People are the heartbeat of God.  We must see the need to educate each other through:

  • dialogue (truly hear each other)
  • respect  for one another
  • desire  (an earnest and sincere yearning to know about each other)

In doing so we make the world a better place for us and the generations to follow.

To help keep the community united through:

  • education
  • conversation and
  • dissimination of information

intended to provoke the Christian values of brotherly love for one another as Jesus instructed.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'  Matthew 22:36-39

 History of the name:

People are pursuing after the heart of man and life.
The PATH man journeys down allows for the evolution of desires, dreams, and goals.
Christians find that journey leads to the PATH of God through the salvation and redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

While trying to find life's meaning Christians realize we are ultimately Pursing After The Heart of God.
In this pursuit the full evolution of self is realized.

Apart from God there is no self thus, this newspaper is birthed out of the desire to be an integral part of helping people and communities capture this journey.
